Recoleta is one of the city of Buenos Aires' most culturally and historically important neighborhoods. It is called "the Argentine Paris" due to the French immigration since 1840 and its consequent architecture.
Within its limits are large cultural spaces, historical monuments, the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (National Fine Arts Museum), The National Library, Plaza Francia with its weekend crafts fair; Recoleta Cultural Center and the Cementerio de Recoleta (Recoleta Cemetery), where Evita's famous tomb is located and the Iglesia del Pilar (del Pilar Church), which is one of the oldest in the city, making it an important tourist and cultural center within the city.
The best thing about renting a room in Recoleta is that it's near to the University of Buenos Aires and several other well-known institutes where you can take some training courses.
The area near the Cemetery and the Recoleta Mall has a great nightlife, full of Pubs and restaurants.
Along Santa Fe Avenue you will find all kinds of shops and businesses.
It is a well connected area, both by bus lines and by subway.
Cecilia tells us about her neighborhood: "I love my neighborhood because I have everything close. Supermarket, laundries and several food houses in the same block. It is a safe area, during the day it has a lot of activity, at night it is well lit and on weekends super quiet. The subway D Station is two blocks away and on Santa Fe Avenue, which is on the corner, there are more than eight bus lines. Although there are no shopping malls around (Alto Palermo 15 blocks away and Recoleta Mall 8 blocks away) it is full of shops of all kinds."

The apartment is in a lovely area of Bs As and I loved staying there! The apartment is big and beautiful, the shower and all the kitchen tools worked nicely.
The bedroom is bright and nicely furnished. The cupboards are very spacious and the bed comfy. I always looked forward to coming home.
I greatly appreciated that a cleaning lady came once a week to vacuum, mop the floors, clean the toilet and mirrors, and wash the bed sheets. I still, however, sometimes cleaned the areas that she did not cover, e.g. inside the cupboards or the fridge shelf. I reckon the common areas would be clean enough anyway, I may be a bit meticulous.
Comment of your host: Cecilia was an absolutely lovely host!!! She always helped me when I asked for tips or needed assistance with something. While there was a language barrier at times, she always took the time to have a chat with me and I learned a lot from her. She is very inviting and I always felt comfortable staying at home, even when she had friends over.
She was caring yet easy-going and respected my private space. Also, she was usually quite busy so there were days where we just briefly saw each other and then she and/or I were off to do something.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with Cecilia and can only recommend her place. Thank you very much for having me!!!
