It features strong commercial activity along its avenues, and has a high population density due to the many high-rise buildings erected along the railway line.
The National Technological University, one the most important public universities in the country specializing in engineering and exact sciences, is located in this neighbourhood.
Although many music and dance venues cater to all tastes, Almagro is a stronghold of tango. During his last years, composer and bandleader Osvaldo Pugliese relocated to Almagro and oversaw the creation of the Casa del Tango (Tango House) complex on Guardia Vieja street.
Among Almagro's residents of note were boxer Luis Angel Firpo, poet Alfonsina Storni, and physician and politician Juan B. Justo.

La habitación estaba muy limpia y el resto de la casa también. Está ubicada en muy buena zona, con colectivos y subte justo al lado. Se recomienda el alquiler de la habitación.
Comment of your host: Diego es un chico muy tranquilo y buena onda, así que la estancia de tres meses ha sido muy buena. Recomiendo alquilar su habitación.
